By halftime, Al Ahly held an eleven-point lead at 48-37.

The Hoopers, however, came back with a renewed strategy, narrowing the gap and eventually taking a seven-point lead. Amayo and Perry were instrumental in bringing their team within two points (54-52). With two minutes left in the third quarter, the score was tied, setting the stage for a fiercely contested game.
