RSSB Tigers lost 99-98 to FUS Rabat in a gripping BAL 2026 quarter-final second leg, but progressed on aggregate after their commanding 95-72 win previously in the Rwanda capital, with Craig Randall II’s 43-point display decisive.
Beaten once, tested again, APR refused to leave Cairo empty-handed. In a tense WBLA third-place clash decided in overtime, discipline, belief and timely execution allowed the Rwandan side to flip the script against ASC Ville de Dakar.
Even without title contention, the tournament's last classification games were played with pride. Sporting de Luanda secured fifth place by narrowly defeating KPA 74-67, while REG claimed seventh by beating CNSS 77-72.
In this battle between two African heavyweights, Sporting de Luanda emerged victorious over REG, advancing to the next round of the placement games. They narrowly won 62-55 to advance to the classification games and are expected to finish fifth in the tournament.
KPA sealed a convincing victory over CNSS in the WBLA 5–8th classification game, powered by Aminata Samassekou’s 18 points and Alexus Johnson’s 17. Despite Jelinka Tounkara’s 20 points and Saran Berthé’s 13, CNSS could not halt KPA’s balanced dominance.
APR of Rwanda’s quest for the WBLA championship ended in the semifinals with an 85-74 loss to Al Ahly SC, whose standout performances secured their spot in the final.
It was the first time CNSS had gotten this far in the competition but the experience and pedigree of Al Ahly showed as they outclassed CNSS 98-55. Al Ahly took it up a notch in the third quarter and did not look back. Their depth also proved too much for CNSS to handle.
APR edged KPA 79–76, surviving a late comeback to secure back-to-back Women’s Basketball League Africa semifinal berths, keeping 2025 title ambitions alive and aiming to surpass their 2024 campaign disappointment this season's expectations.

In the final group stage encounter, defending champions Ferroviario Maputo came back from trailing to defeat Kenya Port Authorities 91-76 and maintain their perfect record in the playoffs. Captain Ingvild Mucauro led her team with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Kayana Traylor turned Cairo’s Prince Abdallah Al Faisal Sports Hall into her personal stage, erupting for 34 points as REG dismantled FBA with pace, discipline and a night of shot-making that felt unstoppable.
APR roared back in their second WBLA game with a dominant 92–37 win over Bravehearts. Led by Yacine Diop’s 22 points and four other players in double digits, the Rwandan champions overpowered their opponents on both ends. This win puts APR back in contention in Group C.
