Rwanda’s men’s team has added Brillant Brave Rutsindura, Dylan Kayijuka, and Bayern Munich Center David McCormack to its provisional roster ahead of the FIBA World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers, where they face Nigeria, Guinea, and Tunisia in Group C.

In preparation for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers, in November, Rwanda's men's national team Interim head coach Yves Murenzi has named three new players to his provisional squad.
Brillant Brave Rutsindura, a 6'11 power forward currently playing US Junior College hoops for the Navarro College Bulldogs.The college sophomore was a member of the U-18 national team that competed in the 2022 AfroBasket in Madagascar, where he averaged 2.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
Dylan Kayijuka, the U-18 national team captain and 2025 Giants of Africa MVP, who averaged 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and three assists per game during the 2024 FIBA U18 AfroBasket. Lastly, 26-year-old African-American center/forward, David McCormack, who currently plays for Bayern Munich in the Basketball Bundesliga and the EuroLeague. Jacques Nshobozwabyosenumukiza is set to return to the national team programme after missing FIBA AfroBasket 2025 in Angola.

Rwanda was drawn into Group C alongside Nigeria, Guinea, and Tunisia, in what many consider the aforementioned "Group of Death." The top two teams in the group will qualify automatically for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. The November window of the World Cup qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Tunisia, will be played from the 27th to the 30th.
