Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) made a commanding return to the court after a day's rest, delivering one of the tournament's most impressive performances with a 94-41 victory over Uganda's Magic Stomers.
The win solidifies KPA's strong start, moving them to a perfect 2-0 record in the competition and keeping them in second place after three days of action.
The match kicked off with a rapid 15-1 run by the Antony Ojukwu-coached side, setting the tone early. Despite a valiant effort from teenage star Angella Auma and her teammates, the opening quarter concluded with KPA leading comfortably at 21-8.
KPA showcased remarkable depth and versatility, with all 12 squad members seeing playing time, and 10 contributing points. Notably, WBLA's reigning top rebounder, Aminata Ly, dominated both ends of the floor, posting 16 points and 14 rebounds. Ivorian Alima Doumbia and Ifunanya Okoro also made significant contributions, scoring 17 and 16 points respectively.

The host team's dominance was evident in multiple facets of the game. They outscored Stomers 58-22 in the paint, highlighting their strength inside. Their aggressive ball movement and fast-paced transition game resulted in 34 points from fast breaks and 25 second-chance points, off their relentless attack and dominance on the boards.
Turnover issues plagued the Ugandan side, who committed 33 turnovers, leading to 37 points for KPA, while KPA turned over the ball 23 times but only conceded 11 points off those.
KPA head coach Ojukwu expressed confidence in his squad's progress, emphasising the importance of teamwork and continuous improvement.
"We are looking to play well in every game. I am impressed with our squad so far. We’ve worked on our chemistry, and the players are gaining confidence with each match. Our goal is not only to qualify for WBLA but also to reclaim the Zone title we lost last year to Al Ahly. We have the squad, the home support, and the determination to win. But we remain humble and focus on one game at a time."

The victory leaves Stomers with a challenging record of three losses, having fallen to Fox Divas and Gladiator, via walkover, highlighting the tough competition they face in this tournament.
KPA’s dominant victory not only boosts their confidence but also sends a clear message to their rivals: they are serious contenders for the title, eager to defend their home turf and reclaim regional supremacy.
