APR delivered a strong and convincing response in their second WBLA outing, crushing Bravehearts 92–37 in a one-sided contest that highlighted their depth, poise, and offensive firepower. After a challenging opener, the Rwandan giants entered this matchup determined to reset the tone of their campaign, and they did so emphatically. From the opening tip, APR imposed their rhythm, dictating pace, and suffocating the Bravehearts on both sides of the floor.

Leading the charge was Senegalese sensation Yacine Diop, who showcased her class with an impressive 22-point performance. Whether attacking the basket, finishing in transition, or creating separation with her smooth mid-range game, Diop was simply unstoppable. Her scoring instincts provided APR with consistent momentum and set the stage for a dominant team display.

But what made APR truly overwhelming was their collective strength. The Rwandan side had five players scoring in double digits, proving that this victory was no one-woman show. Veteran guard Italee Lucas added 18 points, displaying her trademark creativity and composure in the backcourt. Her ability to control the tempo, break down the defence, and find both her own shot and her teammates played a pivotal role in APR’s commanding performance.

Alongside her, Destiny Philoxy contributed 16 points, bringing energy, speed, and relentless pressure that Bravehearts struggled to contain. Philoxy repeatedly punished defensive gaps, sparking fast breaks and second-chance points that widened the scoreboard lead. Uwizeye also made her presence felt, dropping 15 points and stretching the floor with timely shooting. Her accuracy added an extra layer to APR’s multidimensional offense, ensuring that Brave Hearts had no defensive safe zone.

On the opposite end, Bravehearts fought to stay afloat but found APR’s offensive pressure overwhelming. Their rotations were consistently a step too late, and turnovers became costly as the Rwandan side converted nearly every defensive stop into scoring opportunities. Despite the struggles, Mabika managed to stand out with 11 points, showing composure and determination even as the scoreboard tilted heavily against her team. But beyond her effort, Bravehearts lacked the firepower and defensive structure to slow down APR’s relentless attack.

The game was pretty easy for us these game allowed us to refocuse and work on the things we had to work on also show that we have different scores on the team and we're here to compete.

Defensively, APR were just as impressive. Their physicality, tight coverage, and quick close-outs forced Brave Hearts into difficult shots and long scoring droughts. By the second half, APR had completely seized control, using their depth to maintain intensity and close out the match in emphatic fashion.

With this win, APR get right back on track in Group C, rebuilding confidence and sending a clear message to the rest of the competition. Their balanced scoring, improved defensive cohesion, and renewed energy suggest that the opening-match setback was only a temporary stumble.

As they now look ahead to their final group-stage encounter, the Rwandan squad carries momentum, belief, and the unmistakable ambition of a team determined to go far in this year’s WBLA.
