Cameroon

Both Tchoungui Messina and Shanice Mbaha recently earned a place among the elite after being named to the FIBA U16 Regional Youth Camp All-Star Team in Egypt. Representing Cameroon, they were Bronze Medalists at the U16 Women’s AfroBasket, with Messina’s selection being highlighted by the Cameroonian Basketball Federation. Meanwhile, Shanice Mbaha’s inclusion was similarly celebrated, noting her outstanding performance at this year's camp.

Their dual recognition is a mark of high distinction: not only did they help secure Cameroon a third-place finish in the continental tournament, but they also stood out individually among dozens of the Africa's most talented young prospects. Their performance signals potential for future national team roles and positions them as rising stars to watch in African women’s basketball.

Central African Republic

New Tech Basketball (NTB) are intensifying their preparations in Congo ahead of the highly anticipated Road to BAL tournament. The team, determined to make a strong impression on the continental stage, has bolstered its roster with several key additions designed to elevate its level of play and competitiveness.

Among the most notable arrivals is Cameroon’s standout point guard Valentin Lele, the reigning MVP of the Cameroon Championship, who averaged an impressive 17.5 points per game last season. Lele’s leadership, court vision, and scoring ability are expected to bring much-needed depth and experience to New Tech’s backcourt. Joining him are Albert Bapo’o and Paul Mouandjo, two dynamic talents whose versatility and defensive prowess add balance and energy to the squad.

Under the management of the team's front office, New Tech Basketball has focused on sharpening team chemistry, conditioning, and tactical execution during training sessions in Congo. The atmosphere around the camp remains optimistic, with players embracing a winning mindset. As the Road to BAL approaches, New Tech aims not only to represent the Central African Republic with pride but also to establish itself as one of the emerging forces in African basketball.
