An evenly matched opening period offered little indication of what followed. Ferroviario da Beira and Dolphins were level at 21-21 after the first 10 minutes. Still, the Mozambican side completely changed the complexion of the contest in the second quarter, taking a commanding lead it never relinquished. By the final buzzer, Beira had secured a 100–63 victory, its 37-point margin reflecting a performance built on offensive efficiency and sustained collective execution.

The decisive shift came in the second period. After matching the Dolphins basket for basket in the opening quarter, Beira outscored them 27-12 to take a 48-33 lead into halftime. The 15-point cushion was already substantial, but how they built it mattered even more. Beira found scoring solutions from different positions, moved the ball effectively, and repeatedly punished Dolphins around the basket.

The Mozambican club continued along the same trajectory after the interval, winning the third quarter 21-10. That extended their advantage to 26 points at 69-43, effectively putting the outcome beyond reach. The Dolphins responded better in the final period, scoring 20 points, but Beira stayed in control with another 31-point quarter. Their biggest lead eventually reached 32 points before they closed out the game at 100-63.

Beira's superiority was particularly evident in the paint. They scored 54 points inside the key, compared with 38 for the Dolphins, showing their ability to penetrate the opposition defence and convert opportunities close to the basket. They also enjoyed a significant advantage on the boards, winning the rebound battle 47-32. They grabbed 36 defensive rebounds, limiting the Dolphins' second-chance opportunities and regaining possession efficiently.

The collective offensive numbers further underline the difference between the sides. Beira distributed 20 assists, three more than the Dolphins, while registering 18 fast-break points against 12. They also scored 12 second-chance points, five more than their opponents. Although Beira committed 14 turnovers compared with the Dolphins' 11, they made better use of the opportunities created from those mistakes, collecting 14 points off turnovers against 10.

Joshua Thomas led the Mozambican charge with 28 points in almost 34 minutes. His contribution combined scoring near the basket with an ability to finish possessions consistently. He also collected seven rebounds, distributed three assists and recorded three steals, finishing with an efficiency rating of 30. His performance provided the offensive foundation for Beira's dominant display.

Ke Tarrious Bouchum was another major contributor, adding 22 points, five rebounds and six assists. Beyond his scoring, his playmaking helped maintain the flow of Beira's offence and ensured that the responsibility did not rest on Thomas alone. Ayad Munguambe added another 18 points, along with eight rebounds and three assists. His efficiency around the basket made him particularly valuable as Beira established their control inside.

Ismael Nurmamade completed the quartet of double-digit scorers with 10 points, three assists and two rebounds. The four players combined for 78 of Beira's 100 points, demonstrating the importance of their individual contributions within a broader team performance.

For the Dolphins, Peter Malek Marial led with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Adrian Breitlauch added 10 points and six rebounds. Tlotlo Tshekega contributed 12 points in just over 19 minutes, providing some offensive support. However, Dallan Coleman, previously the Dolphins' main scoring reference with 30 points against Soweto Panthers, was relatively quiet this time, finishing with only nine points.

The contrast between the two performances was considerable. Against Panthers, Coleman had supplied the scoring impetus in a seven-point victory. This time, Beira's defence and collective attack limited his influence, while Dolphins struggled to find enough alternative scoring options to stay competitive.

For Beira, the victory represents more than another positive result in their Road to BAL campaign. Now boasting a 4-1 record, the Mozambican side has strengthened its position considerably, with its prospects of securing a place in the Elite 16 looking increasingly solid.

Rather than relying on one outstanding individual performance, Beira showed collective effort against Dolphins, turning an initially balanced contest into a comprehensive statement. With their qualification ambitions secured, maintaining this level of consistency will be the next challenge.
